David Whelan

David Whelan is an award-winning Chairman (including 2022 Chairman of the Year Award Western Europe, Textile Manufacturer, CEO Monthly). He has a first-class track record in guiding, developing and growing numerous businesses as Executive Chairman, Non-Executive Chairman and Non-Executive Director in a wide range of business sectors. David joined TTPi in the Spring of 2023

Possessing the rare combination of superb leadership skills, a fine strategic mind and over 35 years’ business experience at the highest level, David is universally recognised for his ability (within both private equity and publicly owned organisations) to build any business whilst simultaneously increasing company turnover, profitability and successfully facilitating exit strategies.

During 2022, he facilitated the sale of 4 different hospitality and leisure businesses (including one of Scotland’s leading five-star holiday facilities comprising of golf course, stables, retail outlets, bar, restaurant and luxury accommodation) and delivering a superb result for the respective shareholders.

David has built an enviable reputation of successfully raising significant funds through Angel Investors, Venture Capitalists and Private Equity in order to facilitate business growth.  His vast experience in leading and inspiring company board members by encouraging their active participation and involvement is second to none.

His extensive career achievements have culminated in a variety of both personal and business accolades and awards. Amongst his various charitable activities, he also pro-actively encourages and mentors young emerging entrepreneurs. David has studied a wide variety of subjects at third level including an honours degree in Economics (for which he won the prestigious Levine Scholarship for Excellence) and postgraduate studies in both Philosophy and Theology at University College (Dublin), The Sorbonne (Paris) and Clonliffe College (Dublin) in association with Gregorio Romano (Rome).  He has also studied Accountancy ACMA and Contract Law in association with the LSE University (London).
