Liliana de Lillo
Liliana received the M.Eng. degree in electronic engineering from Politecnico di Bari, Bari, Italy, in 2001.
Following her participation in a European Student Exchange Project, she joined the Power Electronics, Machines and Control (PEMC) Group at the University of Nottingham, Nottingham, U.K., and received the Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering in 2006. In 2007, she started working as a Research Fellow within the PEMC Group, University of Nottingham, further developing her interest for more-electric aircraft applications and fault-tolerant power converters for aircraft applications.
In 2012, she was appointed as a Senior Research Fellow within the same research group and continued to work on direct ac–ac converters, especially employing wide-bandgap semiconductor devices, fault-tolerant systems, design, and implementation of compact power converters with the main focus on the challenges of power electronics integration.
In 2019 she was promoted to Principal Research Fellow within the PEMC group and at the same time she continued to work closely with the University of Nottingham Technology Transfer team and the Nottingham Technology Venture to create TTPi, work started in 2016, which enables research ideas to be translated into higher technology readiness and so allow ease of commercialisation.
Liliana co-founded TTPi in 2017 making it the first spin-out of the PEMC group in 2020.
Since 2016 she has also engaged in STEM activities working with local primary schools on the Greenpower, IET Goblin electric cart category, hoping to inspire the new generation of Engineers.
